Would ya’ll please pray, I have a speech tomorrow. It’s a topic that God has laid on my heart and I hope that I’ll be able to get His point across and not my own. Thanks.

The wedding happened and was attended by 800 guests – plus about 30 peeping tom’s that watched from the 3 rd floor classroom. The wedding was beautiful, the bride was beautiful, and the flower girl reminded me of my little sister. There were about 30 students lining the 3 rd floor window watching the whole ceremony. The pastor talked about the marriage supper of the lamb.

Then in the 5 th floor lounge several girls whose names shall be withheld discussed marriage, 1 Corinthians 7, and how we would like our future guy to propose to us. The latter topic was initiated by the story of Tom’s proposal to Rosie; he rode up on a white horse dressed in a full suit of armor!

Some girls thought that was crazy and wouldn’t want that to happen to them, I said that by the time a guy proposed he would know you well enough to do something that you would like. That is what is special about each proposal story, it’s of how the guy thinks out and tries to do something suited to that individual. God sort of does that for us; the way He shows me that He loves me differs from how He might show it to others. God knows me so well and shows it in the little things He does for me. As Micah said in the car to day, He is a God of detail. “I will praise Him for His wonderful works to the children of men!”

If you commit your time to the Lord and do His plans first then He can bless you with unusual speed on other tasks.

Today I intended to grab some supper and head back to my room to finish reading (or skimming) 7 chapters in my nutrition textbook and take an 88 question quiz. But after going through the line I felt prompted to say hi to someone and then to sit and talk to them because they seemed a little lonely. After a good talk that seemed to lift their spirits as much as mine I dutifully went to my room and started reading. Ten minutes into the chapter on trace minerals I got a phone call from Shannon, her sister’s birthday is tomorrow and this sister had requested to talk to the three of us (apparently stories about us have leaked out and we are rather infamous :) anyhow, we were wanted to sing happy birthday and talk a bit. Ok Lord, whatever you want I am here to serve you, not myself. After about half an hour I was back on my bed ready to take that test – oops, I still have a few chapters left. But surprisingly for me, everything went very quickly and I finished without much problem. I then got ready for bed and typed an essay that I had to do in record time. Wow! God multiplies your time when you give it to Him.

God is so wonderful, He just so arranged my evening so that I could go to the concert put on by the Flint Chorus. The first songs were mostly minor and were very moving. The choir sounded so full and powerful yet was quiet and controlled, energy held in control.

The Flint youth choir sang, what beautiful children! One little boy was a joy to watch as his face struggled to find a happy medium between serious and smiling. My favorite was the song Benedictus, where the tune started out simple and innocent with the children singing then the adult choir came in, filling it out and maturing the theme to its fullest height – Hosanna in the highest!

The best song was the Angus Dei. I just closed my eyes and let the music swirl around me, the sopranos lifted my thoughts and spirits while the bass vibrated through my whole being, tenors and altos filling in-between. As the song reached its peak my heart started beating faster, my breath came in short gasps, the music was so beautiful it hurt – I wonder if that’s what it will be like in heaven. The words were “lamb of God…have mercy on us”, I envisioned myself kneeling before the throne of God, pleading for His mercy, tears welled in my eyes. “Lamb of God, you who takes away the sins of the world, grant us peace.”

Wow, so many things happen between times that I get to post! God has been so good and has poured down the snow! This of course dominated all my free time (and time that was not so free :) Sunday we took a lovely walk in the falling snow; Monday gave rise to a snow sculpture; Tuesday was a snowball fight and an addition to the sculpture; and Wednesday was filled to the brim with skiing!

The skiing went very well, the weather was perfect, the slopes were not icy. In snowed on and off the whole time we were there, adding the perfect touch to a wonderful time. God kept all of us alive and relatively uninjured despite some fantastic wipeouts. I am so grateful to those who put this trip together.

To update on the last post…. My brother passed his test! Praise God! The first one is always the scariest because you don’t know what you’re up against, but Brian felt confidant going in. God is still in the business of blessing.
