The Lord has seen fit to open up opportunities for us to “bloom where we are planted.” My children are making inroads just by being adorable.

Several kids have adopted Lance and Ivy as their after school entertainment, showing up at my door almost everyday. This has given me opportunity to talk with them and establish a friendship.

Lance loves to play with them – football practice, skateboarding, or a lesser favorite – being carried around by the girls. One girl has spent several afternoons in my apartment holding Ivy while I did stuff. At first I worried that they might get in trouble for going inside a strangers house, but as they talk about family I realize they aren’t growing up with the same rules and cautions that I did.

The other night I started the grill to cook hamburgers and my little friends started wishing they had marshmallows. I did, so they all ran to get forks and we had a grand cookout. I took the plunge and told them a Bible story. One girl knew Eve ate the poisoned apple but couldn’t remember who Adam was. Another boy had a Bible and got it to show me. I’m pretty excited about all my new friends. You could pray for us.

I have my camera back!

This is just a random picture of my kids and the twins after we finished painting one day (hence the lack of clothing).
Also, here is a video of Ivy’s bath time fun – the swimsuit edition.

The recent lack of posts is because I left my camera at my parent’s house last weekend. Fortunately Stacie is visiting tomorrow and will deliver it safely back into my hands.
It has been sorely missed.
I just went to check on Lance and found him sitting in the middle of a pile of Kleenex, happily pulling more from the box (they just keep on coming you know). Now he is screeching in delight as he shreds them and redistributes the particles all over the house. Even as I write, a glance over my shoulders spies a naked little boy running by.

Caught and properly clothed, Lance continues his quest to grace each room with white tissue.

Mommy’s brain works slightly faster than her little boy’s busy hands. The bathroom is eliminated. Lance contents himself with reenacting a blizzard on Ivy’s play mat.
Apparently you don’t have to have teenagers to get a t.p. job on your house.

These two kiddos like to do everything together.
If Ivy needs to go, Lance needs to go.
They both love to perform:
Ivy is starting to “talk”
And Lance has learned his body parts .

Oftentimes I can get them to nap together.
And if one doesn’t want to play, it’s a sad, sad, day.

I think Ivy is worried about her figure already. Yesterday she started doing sit-ups!
I’ve seen kids lift their heads up when they’re tummy side down, but this is something new to me.
