I have found internet access!!! There’s a library about a mile from our apartment – hooray for wireless!

This update will be short because I already wrote a ton of emails and I have some research to do.

I took some pictures of Brian at his office but they are on his phone so I’ll have to post them later (when I figure out how to get them off of there and on the computer!)

We got a new dishwasher – the one in the apartment couldn’t be fixed so they ordered us a new one and installed it today. This will be the first time we’ve used one since being married!

I went shopping for Brian because he only had two shirts and ties and that’s the new dress code – wearing a uniform for the last 8 years produced a deficit in that area of clothing. Funny thing is, the two long sleeve shirts he currently has are ones I had him buy right before we got married! I did find a good shirt at Good Will for $2.50 and the only two good ties that they had there. There are nice things to be had at a Good Will but you really have to look!

Okay, I’d better get going now!

Hey all! Internet access is still somewhat sporadic though Brian is working on that. Anyhow, thought I’d post a little update on how things have been going so far.
We arrived at the apartment about midnight Friday night. Sat, we spent looking for internet so Brian could post his school assignments. Sunday we really got moving (I think getting a little more sleep really helped).
We visited a church nearby – very friendly but we didn’t care much for the drums. We went to anther church that evening, walked in and back out – it sounded like a rock concert in there! So we went back to the first church which was having an ice cream social that night (not hard to persuade me there!)
Sunday afternoon we took a little tour around town trying to pick up some stuff that would enhance our quality of life (like a fan for the bedroom and a toilet paper holder). After church that evening Brian got on a Mr. Fix-it spree (maybe it was the sugar). We put the fan together, assembled our new lamps,

and Brian fixed the drawer in out bathroom.

Monday came dark and early as Brian got up and got ready for his first day at work! I had the new experience of fixing him lunch and the older experience of telling him what to wear

Here he is, headed out the door! Doesn’t he look great!

While he worked away, I tried to do my part too – organizing the last frontier! I forgot to take an after shot but here is what I had to work with all Monday morning. In the afternoon I hung a few pictures and biked around town checking out what was nearby.
Brian had a great time at work – his boss really likes him and his co-workers seem friendly, we’re hoping to have one or the other over for dinner this week. He also has a new cellphone that can get on the internet and we went to Fry’s last night to get a blue tooth headset for it – Brian is loving all the new gadgets!
Well, I’d better let that be it for now. Until next time……

This is it – our last day at ALERT! I can hardly believe it.
Last night we had dinner with Brian’s boss and his wife.
I pack up and move totally out this morning.
We have a farewell lunch at the dining hall
Brian’s family comes to help us paint and clean the apartment.
After the cleaning and fellowship with them , we head over to Maj. Behr’s house for a last goodbye.
Whatever time we finish up there we head out for Dallas and our first night in our new house.

We have a lot of friends here and we’ll miss them. But we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is where God wants us to go. We’re excited to start fresh and experience new things. We’re excited because God is in it so we know it will be good.

Another picture post!
After moving in on Saturday we still had enough daylight to try out ALERT’s latest addition – the Rock Wall.

Stacie bravely volunteered to be the first climber, then Katie put us all to the test – if she could make it, then we had to! Lori made it to the top but unfortunately I was harnessing up and there were no good pictures taken of her. Please take my word for it that she preformed like a true Jones.

I went up next – climbing for two! Brian proved his manhood by mastering the overhang – the rest of us took the easier route to the right.

Finally Adam, the facilitator of the event, took his turn at the wall. After watching Katie play around on the lower half of the wall wile the rest of us climbed her turn he was convinced we had monkey blood in our lines.
We had a grand old time and I was glad to try it out before we had to leave – thanks Adam!
