Botanical gardens

Today Lance and I were able to celebrate some beautiful weater by going on an outing with our friends to the Dallas Botanical Gardens. Despite the fact that it is fall, the gardens were beautiful with seasonal flowers and pumpkins lined some of the paths.

On arrival we found a grassy spot and ate lunch – joined by a very friendly butterfly! Lance wanted to “hold” it.

Next we toured through some historical home replicas where Lance tried out backwoods living.

We tried posing by a lovely pool and waterfall…but Lance was too interested in the water to look at the camera. Some of the gardens reminded me of what we saw at the castles in England.

On our way out we stopped by the pumpkin house – landscaped with every kind of gourd imaginable! There was also a “Tom Thumb” hale bale maze but both boys were asleep by this time so we headed home – very much the better for a breath of beauty and fresh air!
