Today at work, Jeremy asked if  r-i-p-o-s-t was a word. After
mulling it over in my head for a bit I replied that I wasn’t sure;
hadn’t heard of that one before. I don’t know if it was the paint fumes
or all of the reeses pieces we had eaten that afternoon, but something
about the word struck me funny. In my mind it had no meaning, it
sounded like a real word but there was nothing behind it; it could be
anything!
  I proceeded to experiment:
“My, what a ripost young lady!”
“Guess what? I had a ripost with my lunch today.”
“This paint is dripping in a ripost pattern on my arm.”
“You have a ripost sense of humor!”
(To a slow car) “Since you insist on being so ripost, I’ll have to pass you.”
“Don’t you think those clothes are a little ripost?”
Okay, maybe I enjoyed myself a little too much, or maybe
I’m too easily amused. Anyhow, mom looked it up in the dictionary when
I got home and found a word pretty close: riposte. It’s a fencing term
defining a quick return thrust after a successful parry, and could also
mean a retort (sort of the same as the fencing thing only with words).
In that case, we had spent much of the afternoon sharpening our
riposting skills.
Maybe I should paint outside where the air is better.

God is continuing to move and work in mighty ways, I get a little
excited – okay maybe a lot. Tomorrow we start a witnessing class kind
of like the one Stacie did in Flint.
It’s also neat to see how God is providing money for things – He
knows what we need before we ask. Just today I got payment for
something I did a while back and had completely forgotten about, but
it’s timing was perfect, confirming something I wanted to do. God is
wonderful!

We sent off Lori this morning, I think that the weather knew. Lori has
prayed for warm weather on her break and it has been in the 70’s and
80’s the last two weeks. This morning however she got a little taste of
what she is headed into as the temperature dropped down to 27 degrees.

Lori and the others left for Houston while Stacie and I headed to work
with dad. We warmed ourselves up with some landscaping (dirt hauling)
then tackled the painting. I think that now, after at least a week of
working on it, we are almost done! We painted walls, trim, and doors
with 2-3 coats; I never realized just how many doors could be in one
little addition!

Right now I’m trying to hold two jobs while looking into a third and
working on school on lunch breaks, driving to and from work, evenings
and any free days I have. My degree has taken yet another turn, so
we’ll have to see how God works this one out; I’m just ready for it all
to be over!

My opinion (for what it’s worth) on the Phantom is in the comments section of my last post.

When you were a kid, were you ever sent to bed when you weren’t sleepy?
You would talk or whisper with your siblings until your parent came to
shut things down again. Maybe, if you were really little, they would
sing or soothe you until you were quiet and still. Maybe, when you were
older, they would just sternly tell you to be quiet. But sleep would
not come, alertness persisted despite their efforts and as soon as your
parents were gone, the whispering and giggling would start again.
Excited minds battle the coming night as they refuse to succumb to the
surroundings.

Our church is getting sleepy, our pastor is preaching lullaby’s, each
Sunday we are tucked in. But our family cannot go to sleep! Each Sunday
stimulates lively discussions around the table and we stir each other
up until we are so excited we cannot lay around any longer! Action will
be taken, all will soon awake. I’m starting to see why God has us home now.
