Well, this morning Starfire’s fever had risen to 105.8 so I called the
vet and took her in. The vet was as baffled as we were so she gave the
dog a shot of banamine to reduce the fever and a round of general
antibiotics to help her fight whatever was bothering her.
I went into town and got her some canned dog food to see if that would
tempt her to eat. I think the injections started working because
Starfire started to perk up and she ate a whole can of dog food! I’ll
bet she was hungry after being sick so long. I’m still watching her but
I have good hopes for her recovery. Praise God!

This morning the poor dog wasn’t any better; in fact, her temperature
was even higher and it had dropped down to 40 degrees during the night!
Poor kid, she sits there shivering, but she’s really hot. After church
I checked on her and saw that she had moved from our main porch which
was in full sun to the side porch which was in the shade. She did drink
some water this morning and maybe a little more this afternoon.
I don’t know what’s causing her to be sick, it just kind of happened.
Dad and I spent time on the internet trying to figure it out but we
have no clue. If the fever hasn’t broken tomorrow I’ll call the vet and
see what she says. Thanks so much for your sympathy.

Dog update:
She’s still sick and refusing to eat. She drank some
gatorade this morning but that’s all. She’s running a fever of 104
(normal being 100-102) and just lays on the porch. Poor kiddo.

Could y’all pray for my dog? She wouldn’t eat yesterday or today. I did a short run this morning but she was so
low on energy she could hardly make it. I tried tempting her to eat with some leftovers this morning
but she wouldn’t touch them.
She seemed a little more perky this
evening and wanted to chase her ball (she would have to be really sick
to not do that) but she didn’t run after it as fast as normal. I did
get her to eat come peanut butter about 20 min. ago, we’ll see if that
will help her a bit. Anyhow, I just hope she gets better because I love
her.
This is what she normally looks like:

The tests are over – for better or for worse. We each got to take two
of them; I’m pretty sure I’ll pass one, the other I really don’t know –
we’ll see. It’s funny, I’ve taken my “last test” four times now because
my degree keeps getting rearranged. When I walked in today it was with
the coolness of a veteran, and when I walked out I had no clue of
whether that would be my last or not. God’s really teaching me to lay
it all in His hands.
