Hmmm, update time…
As you may remember, I was participating in a “secret sister” type activity and had been giving my “sister” projects on the meaning of love based off of 1 Cor. 13. Well, last night I culminated my efforts in one major application of “love endures all things.” Starting as soon as work was over for the day (causing her to miss supper) I sent her on a long treasure hunt with one of the other girls (for companionship). They had to ride their bikes all over campus and at one point paddle out to a canoe I had secured out in the middle of the lake! Brian had helped me set up a few things due to his special skills; an unknown phone number that forwarded to someone’s house for a clue, and a website announcing the end of their journey.
It took them about an hour and a half to complete to whole thing while Brian waited, patient and hungry for them to arrive. (He’s such a sweet guy and puts up with all my crazy ideas) We had a good time of fellowship and looking at pictures of our wedding and stuff I had loads of fun coming up with things and I’m glad I had the chance and a willing enough participant.
Tonight is the ALERT Valentine banquet and I’m looking forward to it! We’ll have our picture taken as a couple and enjoy good food and entertainment. Then tomorrow is our first Valentines together! I have great plans….

I passed!!!!
I took my CDL test yesterday and everything went great – I was hardly even nervous after the first few minutes of the drive. Brian is such a good teacher, he took me through everything until he was confident in my skills (even if I was still a little scared). The test went off without a hitch and the lady didn’t even make me back up or parallel park – just went straight in and filed for my license.
Brian took me out for ice cream afterwards! That was unexpected but much enjoyed. I have the bestest husband in the world!

Have you ever wished you had a maid?
Normally I enjoy keeping my little house clean but yesterday I got discouraged by a mess…
I was very hungry all morning and since lunch was less than sustaining, I went home to make a chocolate banana milkshake. After making it, I showed incredible responsibility by cleaning up all my mess before I even so much as sipped my drink. Finally finished, I was on my way out into the living room to sit down and enjoy it when somehow the whole thing flew out of my hand and splattered across the carpet!
And when I say “across the carpet”, I mean it! The whole mess reached all the way to that table in the right hand corner!
In fact, I measured it and it was two “Amy’s” long. (blonde unit of measurement)
Here’s a close up of the main splat.
I sat stunned for a minute before I picked up my nearly empty glass; only one inch of shake was left in the bottom so I gulped it down before anything else could happen. I cleaned up some, but there were still two brown streaks across the carpet and I wasn’t sure what else to do to get it out. By the time I gave up, I didn’t really feel like making another shake, so I just went about my day until Brian came home.
What a hero! He said all the mess needed was a scrub brush and some good ‘ol elbow grease (of which he has plenty).

This is a little project I prepared for one of the girls here on campus. Since it’s most recently on my mind I thought I’d post it:
“Love
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth.”
There is much unrighteousness in the world as the news
demonstrates every day. Reading the headlines for today (only to prepare this project) I was left wondering
why I even bothered to look at them at all – so much junk that pretty much
could be handled locally in a court of law and doesn’t need national press. But
I guess it sells, which is sad because it means people are “rejoicing” in
unrighteousness; they like to read about it despite its total irrelevance to their
lives.
Below are several
articles headings from today’s news. Read over and instead of just absorbing
for curiosity’s sake, take time for a little Bible study and find a truth to
apply to each situation. Take some time to pray for people involved and that
the truth of God would prevail. Then praise God that He has given you truth by
which you can govern your life.
Baton Rouge , La. — A sheriff accused of
having state prisoners work at a stolen car “chop shop” and using
them as his race-car pit crew resigned and pleaded guilty, becoming the third
St. Helena Parish sheriff in a row convicted of federal charges.
St. Louis Sen .
Tim Green , has introduced
a bill requiring public school ninth-graders tour a state correctional center
before they start their sophomore year. The tactic, meant to scare kids into
good behavior, would start in the 2009-2010 school year. Principals and
superintendents who do not comply would face being fired.
Michael Riley ,
34, and his wife, Carolyn Riley ,
32, face first degree murder charges for what prosecutors call an
“intentional overdose” of their 4-year-old daughter, Rebecca Riley.
Florida — A NASA astronaut attempted to kidnap a romantic
rival for a space shuttle pilot’s affections. Nowak is a
married mother of three and police believe she was in a love triangle with a
fellow astronaut. She faces charges including attempted kidnapping, attempted
vehicle burglary with battery, destruction of evidence and battery.

And on the seventh day He rested…..
You know, that isn’t such a bad thing. After a short night Saturday Brian and I were feeling kind of tired so we decided to take a little nap before finishing out several things we wanted to do that evening. We lay down about 4:00-4:30 and the next thing we knew it was 1:45am! We could hardly believe it! We rolled back over and finished up our night by sleeping until 6:00. Amazing – I don’t think I’ve ever slept that long in my life!
Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
The fear of the LORD leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.
