Guess it’s been a little while since I last posted so here’s what has happened:

First off, Brian finished his Bible course and everything is in line for his graduation! Now I’m furiously seeking information on distance Master degrees and courses.

Next, I had my eye appointment with Dr. Craig and checked out with 20/20 vision! Praise the Lord!

Another project taking a bit of my time has been picking berries.

Here is the extent of my labors. I have jars from Brian’s mom and as soon as I get sure-jell I’ll be making jelly.

Here is me with all the berries right before I mashed most of them for juice – I got nearly a gallon!

We also have a new addition to campus: my sister Lori! She’s here to work in the STEP office for the next six weeks. I’ve been having a good time getting her acclimated to ins and outs of my favorite ALERT program. She also helps with the garden work, housework and dishes.

This is Brian now.

Finished with his CLEP tests he’s moved on to the last course
between him and graduation – Biblical geography.
He’s trying to finish tonight – two essays down, three to go!
His graduation will be next weekend and we’re trying to apply
for a Master’s program by the 29th of May!

This whole last week Brian has been studying like crazy.

(nachos help sustain an active mind)
Today came the proof of all his work – he tested the Natural Science and Biology CLEP tests!
And he came out of the ordeal victorious with a  60 and a 64!
His brain was shot after studying all morning and then testing twice in a row. When we got home he lay on the couch while I started reading a Sherlock Holmes mystery out loud so his brain could recover. Now he’s attacking the last course between him and graduation – Biblical geography.
I’m so proud of how hard he works to accomplish his goals! Way to go Brian!

I had a wonderful birthday. Starting Friday night I ate a wonderful dinner around a campfire with the family. We cooked corn and apples in the coals, potatoes and brisket finishing out the meal.
The next day – my actual birthday – we went on a hike and picked dewberries! Ate pizza here at the house, opened gifts and looked at some of my scrapbooks. For our afternoon entertainment Brian beat dad at racket ball and mom at pool. Meanwhile I talked with Brian (the brother) and Stacie on the phone then took racket ball lessons from dad.

We drove in to Tyler and ate at Johnny Carino’s – I wanted Brian to see the cooks at work, quite fascinating.
After the family left Brian took me to the rose garden and we walked among the beautiful bushes.

Brian liked these roses.

We found a baby bird that couldn’t quite fly yet I caught it and it’s little protest alerted it’s nearby mother who attacked Brian – much to my amusement.
We continued to walk through the bushes (I liked to find the ones that smelled really good) talking and admiring the fountains and ponds. Dusk closed in on us and a few frogs came out to share the path with us. The whole thing was very romantic and I very much enjoyed my first birthday as a married woman.

Today is my birthday!

The family is here so we took a picture with all the May birthday kids.

Things got a little wild – and this is before we’ve had sugar!
