God knows what we have need of before we ask Him:
Yesterday Brian and I took on the project of rotating the tires on the car. Nice weather, fun project together.
God knew we needed the practice so we could quickly change a flat tire this morning – in 34 degree weather.
God’s timing is amazing – even a bit humorous.

The other day brought a major change in our closet…and my wardrobe: I officially put away all my ‘regular’ clothes and installed my maternity clothes. Praise God that someone is growing!

Wow, been so busy recently I haven’t had time to update on the things that are happening!
  Brian is really enjoying his
job and really likes his boss. He’s learning a whole lot which makes
him really excited. He’s also plugging away at college courses and should be finished by the
end of Summer. Then of course, there’s the time he spends with me 🙂 We
jog together, read, discuss child training or names or do projects
around the house. We’ve really had a great time this whole month just
being in love all over again.

Thanksgiving morning we played frisbee glof to work up an appetite for the feast ahead of us.

Thanksgiving was wonderful! Mom and I split up the cooking and we tested out new recipes on the family.

The next day we were given the task of decorating for Christmas with the direction to come up with something new. We also made it a goal to use every decoration they had.

Brian is their long standing “best idea” decorator. He and Daniel put their heads together to come up with a new scene for the lighted village. Here, Brian builds the framework for his idea…

Which turned out quite beautiful!

Any extra time we had was spent just
relaxing and playing games . The Cahill’s are great strategizers and hence tend to take rather long turns. After playing several games with the boys they obliged me with a faster game of Pit.

I did pull away from the game table long enough to get some recording, scripting and sound editing done on the Nutcracker. I had a little setback where I lost some files due to my own computer bungling and the failure to properly back myself up, but God was gracious and I’ve already replaced what was lost. Brian was really sweet in helping me recover – I’m so blessed to have such a support.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Petit Jean – Day 2

Our first hike of the day was down to the waterfall – everything was so gorgeous! Benj. brought his camera along and took some great pictures – this was my favorite.

He also caught one of us as we explored behind the falls and me as I missed my man at the kissing rock.

I liked the composition and colors of this shot. We had a great time scrambling on the rocks at the base of the falls.

                             Kevin                                                                              Benj.

After lunch we hiked the nature trail – scenic view # 11

Next followed an intense game of croquet – where we youngsters came from behind to beat our elders!
That evening we played a great game of seek-and-go-hide in “Bear Caves” – a bunch of huge boulders and rock formations with caves and crevices perfect for hiding.

Last sight at the park as we leave for home. Don’t we look like the VonTrapp family?
I had a blast out on vacation and I’m so grateful I got to go.

Petit Jean – Day 1

I just went on vacation to a state park in Arkansas with the Cahill clan – Brian couldn’t get off work, but he graciously allowed me to go and boy did I have a great time!
Anyhow, everything was just incredible – fall was making it’s way through the trees and we enjoyed it to the fullest extent, hiking upwards of five miles each day. I’ll let pictures do most of the talking.

Here’s one of the great little cabins at the park.

Our first hike led us to a natural bridge – I climbed on top!  I loved all the rocks and colors.

Being introduced to the family tradition – Kevin ran 10 miles with the animals in a backpack – all for a picture to let  the animals left at home see what kind of adventures the lucky ones had.

Benj. takes a snooze on a comfortable rock….then poses at the turtle rocks.

This is Rock House cave  – fun for echos and howling and stuff.

Here’s looking out of the cave – everything was just so incredibly beautiful!
We finished the day with a great meal and games then creaked our tired bones into bed to prepare for another day – which I will post about later!
